New reality series premieres on the Nine Network
WTFN’s new eight-part TV series Dream Job premieres in Australia January 27 at 4.30pm, on the Nine Network. In this emotional and uplifting series, Psychologist Sabina Read goes on a mission to take brave volunteers on a life-changing journey, where each must step out of their comfort zone and road test their dream job.
The TV series shares the stories of 16 candidates of all ages and from all walks of life as they confront their own fears and search for genuine career fulfilment. Viewers will meet a senior executive who wants to throw it all in for a job in doggy daycare, a devoted single mother with three sons who dreams of being a patisserie chef and a sales manager who wants to make a difference as a nurse.
WTFN Director of Content Steve Oemcke said: “Dream Job is the first TV show of its kind in Australia confronting career change. Over half of Australians suffer in silence – locked in careers that are not representative of their true selves. Hopefully, Dream Job demystifies some of the journey in changing career paths by showing the brave and real stories of ordinary Aussies.”
WTFN has partnered with SEEK, Australia’s number one employment marketplace, to produce this series, which is inspired by Clemenger BBDO’s highly successful 2017 brand campaign, ‘Why Settle?’. SEEK’s research reveals that almost 60% of Aussies feel dissatisfied and ‘stuck’ in their current career because the thought of tackling a career change seems insurmountable.
SEEK Marketing Director, Jenn ten Seldam says, “Seek is passionate about helping all Australians find the right career to lead a fulfilling work life. Our intention with Dream Job is to give Australians confidence that no matter their age or profession, career change is achievable.”
Supporting the TV series will be an integrated campaign that will be rolled out progressively online and amplified through multiple digital and social channels to provide inspirational and educational content for those seeking a career change. SEEK is also launching an online Advice and Tips hub that will house interviews and stories from the Australians on the show, along with career guidance and support from life coach expert Sabina Read.
Dream Job will be available for international distribution through Fred Media.
