Radar and its partner Oceanliner Designs has been nominated for two industry awards.
The prolific YouTube channel, which focuses on the golden age of ocean liner travel, has been shortlisted for both the History and Documentary Channel categories at the Digital Video Awards. The awards are organised by UK-based publisher Tellycast.
Radar General Manager Louisa Emery said, “We’re proud to be nominated for these awards. Oceanliner Designs is an incredible channel that continues to inspire audiences worldwide with great storytelling. There seems to be inexhaustible demand for stories on everything from the Titanic to Pearl Harbour.”.
“We now produce two major pieces of content for the channel each week and are seeing a broadening of audiences as a result. The channel brings in audiences looking for great stories from history. Michael is a brilliant storytelling and brings you back to that time in history,” she added.
Oceanliner Designs founder and host Michael Brady said, “To be honest, just to have been shortlisted in these categories is a major achievement for the channel. There are so many high quality history and documentary channels out there.”
“The key to the channel’s success is original storytelling. There are viewers that have been with the channel since the first video. They keep coming back for a new story or a different take on something they are passionate about. A story like Titanic has been told many times but there is always a new angle or untold gem,” he added.
Oceanliner Designs was launched by Michael Brady in 2020 and now has over 700,000 subscribers and more than 200m views to date.
