Radar shouts about Dog Whisperer YouTube channel success

YouTube channel experiences unprecedented growth as part of Radar’s “pet network”.

Radar MCN, the digital agency of Australian producer WTFN, has championed its latest YouTube channel, around the hit TV series Dog Whisperer.

The iconic show, fronted by charismatic superstar pet expert Cesar Millan, is finding new audiences via its dedicated YouTube channel. The channel currently has over 50,000 subscribers and drives over 8 million views per month.

Derek Dyson, Chief Commercial Officer at WTFN Entertainment, said “We knew this was going to be a big channel, but it has blown all our expectations. The channel monetised within a week and is now one of our biggest YouTube channels by views and revenue”.

“Of course, it has benefitted from being in our pet network of channels. We are able to cross promote across various YouTube and Facebook channels. Our audiences know we are the number one place to come for pet content,” he added.

The channel success underlines current trends for iconic TV series finding a new home on YouTube. YouTube is the leading video channel in the United States with over 50% of views taking place on TV screens.

Derek Dyson said, “Producers and rights holders are finally starting to understand that YouTube is effectively a TV channel, and that audiences want long form, lean back experiences on the platform”.

Radar MCN runs a network of over 30 channels including Bondi Vet, Vet On The Hill, Dog Whisperer and Oceanliner Designs. It works with global content partners including Network Seven and Cineverse to manage, monetise and optimise VOD channels.
