Real Emergency sets the pace on Samsung TV Plus

Real Emergency, a digital channel brand from Radar, Fred Media and Nine Network, has launched as a FAST channel on Samsung TV Plus Australia.

The channel, which features premium series Paramedics and Radar, had already launched on 9Nine Now and YouTube with strong audience and commercial results. The FAST channel will also be carried by LG and Fetch in the Australian region.

On Samsung TV Plus, the channel has already reached the top ten channels on the platform, and is outperforming Fred Media’s other channels on the platform.

WTFN Chief Commercial Officer, Derek Dyson, who handles FAST expansion for the business said, “We’re thrilled with the start that Real Emergency has made on Samsung. To be one of best performing channels on the platform in less than a month is a real achievement.”

“Combined with the existing channel network we have, this is a fantastic example of ‘total distribution’, where we find a home for our content is as many viable and commercially relevant places as possible,” he added.

Derek also commented on the expansion strategy for all its FAST channels. “We always start with the Australian and New Zealand market. Our content naturally finds traction in our home markets, but it also allows us to test the channel and build data that we can take to platforms worldwide.”

“We’re very much focused on the European and North American markets for further expansion. But it is more competitive so you need to be able to demonstrate you channel is capable of high performance. Compelling data is always beneficial,” he added.
