Radar has teamed up with UK-based digital distributor to Upstream to launch a Facebook extension to its already popular OMG Weddings channel brand.
The channel, which has nearly 200,000 subscribers on YouTube, powered by hit series such as Big Fat Gypsy Weddings.
Radar General Manager points out that the business has rare expertise in Facebook monetisation, following the success of channels such as Bondi Vet (5m followers), Untamed (2m followers) and Vet On The Hill (1m followers).
“There are plenty of multi-channel networks out there who are brilliant at YouTube channel monetisation. But Facebook can often be a bit of blind spot,” she said.
She added, “It’s a completely different beast to YouTube. It needs a bespoke approach and content strategy. We’ve got a bit of a ‘secret sauce’ for the platform here at Radar.”
The OMG Weddings Facebook channel has reached over 60,000 followers so far this year, and Louisa says there is just some content that is perfect for the platform.
“Human stories, high emotion, brilliant and instant visuals. These are all key ingretdients for success on platform like Facebook. We only have a second or so to hook someone in. It needs to be entertainment from the very start. That’s what OMG Weddings brings,” she added.
